SMC Women Bring Home the Hardware
The SMC Women's Cross Country team won a hard-fought second place at the MCCAA/NJCAA Region XII Championships today with a score of 95 points, behind only St. Clair with 80 and ahead of Lansing with 100.
Leading the Roadrunners again was Kierstyn Thompson in 14th place with a time of 21:02.3, followed by Allison Lauri in 17th at 21:14.3 and Morgan Pieczynski in 18th at 21:22.8.
Some of the other teams had higher finishers, but SMC runners strategically worked together to post a better overall team score.
The team now has two weeks to prepare before travelling to the NJCAA National Championship meet in Huntsville, Alabama, on Saturday, November 11.
