Sinkler and Thompson Finish #11 at Heartland

Freshmen Riley Sinkler and Kierstyn Thompson finished as the top pair for SMC at the Heartland Relays on Friday. The Relays are a unique event where pairs of runners alternate 1-mile loops with each runner completing three total miles.

The duo finished #11 of 21 teams with a combined time of 41:30 for an average mile of 6:55. That finish ranks them #29 all-time in the event. Taylor Meier and Tori Yates finished #18 in 45:31, while Madison Siergieg and Anna Remelts finished #19 in 46:42.

Due to the high heat, all of the men's and women's teams started at the same time of 6pm Central. 

The Roadrunners now look towards the Olivet College Comet Open on Friday, September 1.
