Meah Evans Signs with SMC

Meah Evans of Constantine High School and Joe Valley Volleyball Club has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to play volleyball in the 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse for Head Coach Jenny Nate and the Roadrunners.

Coach Nate said of Evans, "I have been watching Meah compete for the last two years and knew we wanted her here at SMC since Day One.  Meah is a calm, intense leader who has incredible court presence.  She is a strong athlete who is always cool under pressure, is an awesome attacker, blocker, and setter.  Meah has high-level skills and is as strong in the classroom as she is on the volleyball court.  She was All-Conference and All-Conference in 2022 and is All-Conference and All-Region again in 2024, plus earned Division 3 All-State honors this season. She comes from a great high school and club program at Joe Valley which will help her prepare for the college level next fall.  We are excited to welcome Meah and look forward to her helping us continue to build a championship-level program."

Coach Tiffany Lews added, "Meah is what every coach wants in a player.  She is smart, selfless, hardworking, and a leader.  She wants her teammates and team to be successful before herself.  As a setter, Meah moves the ball around and knows when and who to set or when she needs to attack herself to keep defenders on their toes.  She will continue to do all of those things and more at SMC."

Evans is the first member of the 2025 SMC Volleyball recruiting class.

SMC Volleyball finished the 2024 season with a winning record of 22-16, including a win over the previously undefeated and nationally-ranked McHenry County Scots. The Roadrunners were 7-5 in the MCCAA Western Conference, qualifying for the Great Lakes District Tournament for the third consecutive year, advancing in the 2024 bracket twice. Individual Roadrunners earned seven conference and regional awards, including All-Freshman Team, All-Conference Honorable Mention, All-Conference Second Team, All-Conference First Team, All-MCCAA Team and All-Region Team.
