Volleyball Season Ends in Port Huron

After sweeping both the play-in match vs. Montcalm on Wednesday and their Round 1 match vs. #2 seed Edison State, the SMC Volleyball Roadrunners lost their second Thursday match in four sets to hosts St. Clair. The season ended with a close five-set loss to Cuyahoga on Friday 25-19, 17-25, 21-25, 25-22, and 10-15.

"We made a great run this week and played some of our best ball of the season the last three days," said Head Coach Jenny Nate. "We always want to peak in the postseason, and we did that.  I was proud of how aggressive we played this week defensively and offensively, and we are grateful for our sophomore leadership this season and the growth of our freshmen.  This past week was a great experience, and we will be excited to pick up and prepare for the spring season in the next couple months using our momentum and experience gained this fall.  I'm incredibly proud of this team and their representation of SMC Volleyball and look to continue to build a winning program and championship caliber team as we move forward."

The Roadrunners finished the season 22-16, 7-5 in the Western Conference and 2-2 in the Great Lakes District Tournament.
