Amanda Jones Earns Scholarship for SMC Volleyball

Amanda Jones, a current member of the SMC Volleyball team, has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent for the 2024-2025 season.  A graduate of New Buffalo High School, in New Buffalo, Michigan, Jones played on last year's Roadrunner squad that finished 23-13 and third in the MCCAA Western Conference. Jones, a General Studies major, was recently awarded an athletic scholarship for her sophomore season.

Earlier in her career, Jones played with Dunes Volleyball Club and KeAloha Volleyball Club.

Head Coach Jenny Nate said, "Amanda came into our program as a walk-on, stepped into the gym with grit, hustle, and determination from Day One, and earned the position as our starting libero.  She is calm on the court, is a great teammate, and excels in the classroom.  I am excited to sign her and look forward to seeing her do big things for our team again in the 2024-25 season."

SMC has had a strong practice and scrimmage season this spring. The team is planning several day camps this summer; the 2024 fall season begins on August 1.
