Roadrunners Take Down Red Hawks

Roadrunners Take Down Red Hawks

The Southwestern Michigan College Volleyball Team came out swinging last night, sweeping rival LMC 25-22, 25-14, and 25-17 in the annual Dig Pink game.  "We came out on a mission tonight," Head Coach Jenny Nate said. "Every single thing we did on the court was practiced and executed.  This was a total team effort, and I'm incredibly proud of our teamwork, hustle, determination, and grit. We were playing to win.  This was exactly the way we wanted to finish the conference season, plus, it's great momentum heading into our match against Muskegon Thursday followed by the postseason tournament the following week. And I love that we did it on our homecourt."

As an extra bonus, SMC's win knocks LMC out of a tie for first place in the MCCAA Western Conference.

The Roadrunners are now 23-10 overall and, with a 7-5 conference record, finish third in the standings, one place better than last year.
