Nikki Nate Wins Defensive Player of the Week

Sophomore Nikki Nate has added a DPOW award to go with her OPOW from Week 1.

Per the MCCAA: "The middle hitter/defensive specialist out of Niles, Mich., was an all-around force during a 3-1 week for the Roadrunners. At the Owens Community College Tournament, she racked up 35 kills (2.69 kps), a .453 attack attempts on 64 attempts (just six errors), 53 digs (4.08 dps) and 12 total blocks."

Nate, returning from several injuries and a student in the SMC Nursing program, won MCCAA Western Conference Offensive Player of the Week after the Opening Weekend Tournament in Rockford, Illinois. 

SMC is now 9-3 on the season and opens conference play on September 12 at Glen Oaks.
