SMC Wrestling Qualifies Ten For Nationals

Out of ten teams competing Saturday in the Great Lakes District meet in Flint, Michigan, including all of NJCAA Regions 4 and 12, the SMC Wrestling Team finished 2nd with 175 points, just 8 behind the eventual winners, Triton College with 183. Harper College was 3rd with 147.5.
 
In addition, the Roadrunners have FOUR district champions: Colby Klinger in 141, Hunter Heath in 165, Nathan Andrina in 184, and Shane Edwards in Heavyweight.
 
Other results: Jordan Simpson 2nd in 125, Kyle Stampfly 4th in 133, Caeleb Ishmael 2nd in 149, Zam Thompson 3rd in 157, Hector Garcia 5th in 174 and Vinny Patierno 5th in 197.
 
ALL TEN Roadrunners have qualified for the NJCAA National Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 1-2.
