
Men's Basketball Drops Conference Opener to Chargers
SMC Men's Basketball was without sophomore center Aries Hull, who was sidelined with an illness on Saturday, and lost their conference road opener to the Marian Ancilla Chargers, 65-49. The Roadrunners trailed by four at the half.
SMC was led by freshman Davion Goins, who double-doubled with 15 points and 14 rebounds, freshman Anthony Brady added 11 off the bench and RJ Davis had 8, going 2 for 4 from deep. The Roadrunners shot 63% from the free throw line and just 29% overall from the field, turning the ball over 18 times.
Conference play continues at Kellogg Community College on Wednesday, January 15.
