Javon Mason Now a Roadrunner

Javon Mason of Benton Harbor High School has signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent to play in 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse with Coach Rodell Davis and the Roadrunners.

Coach Corey Sterling of Benton Harbor said, "Mason is a true defensive warrior, who has mastered how to take a charge. He has a very high motor on offense and can knock down the mid-range shot."

Coach Davis added, "We're happy to announce that Javon Mason will be a Roadrunner. Javon is a true winner. He does all of the little things that help his team win big. Benton Harbor was 24-2 last season due to his leadership and willingness to play his role. He's a great glue guy that can score in bunches when needed and also defend the opponent's best scorer."

Mason is the second member of the 2024 SMC Men's Basketball recruiting class and will join Tiger teammate Antwan Callahan Jr. at SMC.

After a 26-year hiatus, the SMC's Men's Basketball Team returned to action in the newly-renovated 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse for the 2022-23 season. In their first year back, with an all-freshman team, the Roadrunners compiled a 15-11 overall record, went 6-6 in the MCCAA Western Conference and qualified for the postseason Great Lakes District A Tournament.

This year, the Roadrunners improved to 16-12 (7-5 in conference) and hosted a home playoff game in Round 1 of the Great Lakes District C Tournament.
